Program Areas

M.A.T.C.H. is a large Community Housing organisation that operates with two main Program Areas – the Community Housing Program and Refugee Housing Program (see organisation structure) with a portfolio of approximately 400 properties across these programs.

Community Housing Program

The Community Housing Program provides approximately 291 units of accommodation largely funded by the Department of Housing (Qld) Community Rent Scheme (237) and Long Term Housing Programs (20). Community Rent Scheme housing is time limited accommodation available to individuals and families eligible for public and community housing assistance, under the ‘One Social Housing System’. Long Term Housing is available to individuals and families eligible for public and community housing assistance with complex long term needs.

M.A.T.C.H. has also recently commenced a partnership arrangement with the Department of Housing and Qld Health on the management of time limited housing to individuals exiting health facilities with mental health needs. This project comprises of 16 shared units of accommodation.

M.A.T.C.H. also manages 3 properties released by Brisbane City Council under the Community Housing Partnership Project for the purposes of providing short term and transitional housing to families with low incomes.

Refugee Housing Program

M.A.T.C.H. are partners in a Consortium arrangement with the Multicultural Development Association & Qld Program of Assistance for Survivors of Torture and Trauma, in the provision of settlement services to recently arrived refugees in the Brisbane Metropolitan Region. This is a five year contract funded by the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs. Under this program M.A.T.C.H. provides accommodation to approximately 100 individuals and families, and provides accommodation assistance to individuals and families who have been proposed into Australia by family or community members.

M.A.T.C.H. continues to seek opportunities to develop quality affordable housing to meet an ever increasing demand.

M.A.T.C.H. is a registered association with the Qld Department of Fair Trading and is accredited under the National Community Housing Standards.

An independent financial audit is completed annually.

Statistical and performance reporting is made to funding bodies and the Commonwealth on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
